In Bogotá alone there are 2,363 buildings diagnosed at structural risk by the District Institute for Risk Management and Climate Change (Idiger).
This represents an imminent danger to the lives of hundreds of families and a problem for the builders of real estate projects that sooner or later must respond.
According to the Idiger report, these structural failures affect all types of buildings in more than 900 areas of the city due to deficiencies in the construction and poor quality of the materials.
In cities such as Medellín, local authorities have had to evacuate several families from poorly built buildings and materials of poor quality.
“Faced with this problem, it is necessary that the investors of these projects are aware of the social responsibility they have with all the families that buy a home or a property and, in addition, protect their investment mitigating all types of risks”, explains Juan Andrés Gutiérrez, Executive of Multivista.
